Immediate Placement and Loading in Partially Edentulous Patients – Single Anterior Teeth

Nested Applications

Page - ITI Decision Tree - Text

The ITI decision tree on immediate implant placement and loading was developed to assist clinicians as a guide in managing decision-making for immediate placement and loading protocols in anterior single tooth sites.

The purpose of this decision tree is to provide an overview of the factors to consider when planning an immediate placement and loading protocol in an anterior single tooth site along with recommendations for alternative implant placement and loading protocols, depending on the results of the pre-operative and intra-operative assessment.

In addition, the ITI decision tree provides general guidance for clinicians in selecting the appropriate placement and loading protocol for a particular patient case and takes into account the level of scientific evidence available, with a particular focus on different combinations of placement and loading protocols.

The ITI decision tree represents the evidence-based element of practicing evidence-based implant dentistry. In addition, and in accordance with the ITI philosophy, it is assumed that the preparation and implementation of treatment plans follow a patient-centered approach including risk assessment using the ITI SAC Classification and that clinicians will have undergone appropriate training and be practicing within the bounds of their clinical competence and abilities.
