Principles of Staged Bone Augmentation
Bone augmentation procedures can be performed either simultaneously with implant placement or as a staged procedure. This module focuses on the staged approach, in which the augmentation is done in the first step, and after an appropriate interval, implants are inserted into the augmented site.

After completing this ITI Academy Module, you should be able to…
- define the indications and describe the types of hard tissue defects in need of staged bone augmentation
- describe treatment options for staged bone augmentation
- describe surgical principles of staged bone augmentation
- describe complications of staged bone augmentation
