Documenting Treatment

Complete and accurate dental records are not a prerequisite for excellent care, but they serve a variety of important purposes in your practice: for legal records, patient safety, communication and more. Documenting Treatment is an interactive Learning Module that covers the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of clinical records. Embedded knowledge-check questions are included.

After completing this ITI Academy Module, you should be able to…

  • discuss the reasons for recording treatment in a patient’s clinical record
  • define the information that should be recorded
  • describe the privacy and security requirements for dental records
  • describe the structure of a clinical case presentation
  • describe common faults in case presentations and how these might be avoided
