Prosthetic Complications: Tips and Tricks
Dental prostheses provide credible replacements for lost natural tooth/dental structures. Creation of dental prostheses needs to be directed towards the achievement of restorations that are comfortable, functional and esthetic.
Earliest descriptions of prosthetic complications generally related to material failure or failure of dental prostheses to provide facsimiles to the natural dentition over a long time frame. Most of the clinical efforts that have occurred to this point in time relate to mechanical complications.
Although mechanical complications have been dramatically improved through appropriate engineering of prostheses clinicians are cautioned to be constantly vigilant regarding factors that could place implants and/or implant-supported prostheses at increased long-term risk.
