Post-Extraction Implant Placement: When Immediate, When Early and When Late?

This is a recording of Stephen Chen's Webinar on ITI Academy live.

Many patients present with teeth that are indicated for extraction. Clinicians need to determine the best time to place implants after the tooth has been removed to maximize treatment outcomes and minimize complications of treatment in the long term. In his webinar, Stephen Chen discusses the indications and recommendations regarding timing of implant placement post-extraction and presents three cases illustrating the different treatment concepts. The webinar focuses on the single-tooth maxillary anterior case type.

At the end of this webinar you should be able to…

  • discuss the current concepts of post-extraction healing

  • explain the new classification for implant placement and loading time

  • describe the case selection criteria for immediate, early and late placement
