Congress Lecture
Prosthodontic Planning and Procedures
Esthetic Integration for Implant-Prosthetic Rehabilitations
This lecture addresses the integration of prosthetic rehabilitations on implants in the esthetic zone. Because the starting point of an esthetic integration should be the anatomy of the emergence profile, this presentation begins with an explanation of the biologic response of the periodontium to implant placement and its effect on osseointegration. This lecture clearly demonstrates the most efficient transmucosal prosthetic design that will have a predictable influence on the esthetic outcome according to the clinical situation. The lecture also includes pre- and postoperative ‘tips and tricks’ to better contour the transmucosal design, and concludes with some final remarks and strategies.
At the end of this Congress Lecture you should be able to…
- define the emergence profile of an implant prosthetic rehabilitation
- describe the most efficient transmucosal prosthetic design according to the clinical situation
- discuss peri-implant soft tissue and marginal bone adaptation on implants in the esthetic zone
- recognize dimensional changes of peri-implant soft tissue
