Digital Implant Dentistry: A Fascinating Path of Exciting Possibilities

Digital technologies present highly exciting opportunities in dentistry. Dr. Hämmerle discusses how these technologies can be applied in treatment planning, digital diagnosis, data capture, dental materials, and computer-aided design and manufacture. He also introduces the modern surgical template design. Using several cases, he provides an overview of a typical digital workflow in implant prosthesis and complex prosthetic rehabilitation. He stresses how digital technologies facilitate the easy and accurate monitoring of tissue changes during treatment process. He concludes by introducing an exciting new technology, the augmented reality engine, as a tool for virtual mock-up.
