Dental Implants in an Aging Society: The Medically Compromised Patient
This lecture summarizes the findings of the 6th ITI Consensus Conference on medication-related implant failure in aging populations. It addresses the impact of disabling systemic diseases in an aging society and the related intake of medications on implant rehabilitation. Implant survival and failure rates are discussed, and the lecture concludes with an overview of diseases and medications and their effect on implant survival rates.
