Biological and Technical Complications in Implant Dentistry

This lecture gives an excellent introduction to and overview of the wide range of complications seen in implant dentistry. Biologic and hardware complications are defined and their incidence presented. Risk factors for complications are discussed and ranked, and strategies for their management are introduced. Finally, the evolution in occurrence of complications is discussed and related to changes in available implant materials as well as to changes in surgical and prosthetic techniques.
