インプラント治療は臨床導入後、インプラントの表面性状、インプラントシステム、インプラントの形状、埋入時期、荷重時期、ガイデッドサージェリー、骨増生の術式、審美材料などが開発されてきた。これらの革新は治療効果を検証しながら伝統として根付き、この伝統の上に新たな革新が導入されてきた。本講演ではこのセッションの紹介として、インプラント治療の革新と伝統について概観されている。
